Communications Lead - Medicare


Overview:

Our healthcare client in Minneapolis is seeking a Communications Lead with experience writing for Medicare to support content creation of new products


 Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate writing development and production of communications including onboarding materials, sales kit collateral, health and wellness outreach, advertising, direct mail, displays, and any other materials assigned that support marketing and key stakeholders - as well as strategic and annual plans and tactics that are product-specific or cross-promotional. This will include writing copy content for web and digital to ensure consistent tone and messaging across all channels.
  • Coordinate with Marketing Content Strategist for alignment on messaging strategies. Any advertising and related marketing material for brand, direct mail, digital, social, traditional, and experiential will follow messaging strategies that are understood and leveraged by the Medicare Communications Lead to help inform materials they are responsible for. This approach will help create an omnichannel, or cross-channel, content strategy to improve member experience long-term.
  • Meeting with key stakeholders to develop and execute measurable communication tactics that meet product and enrollment goals and align with marketing strategies. Ensure Marketing campaigns, messaging, and tactics align with and support achievement of the annual Marketing strategies and communication plans.
  • Provide input and collaborate with graphic designer on overall layouts to help ensure business owner and target audience goals and desired outcomes are being met overall, with final decision by design.
  • Leverage opportunities to elevate and amplify brand awareness for assigned product(s) through opportunities to partner with other initiatives, departments, and required communications.
  • Collaborate with Government Relations staff to ensure compliance with CMS and other statutory requirements.
  • Serve as an editorial resource and consultant to other departments on communications projects as requested, and work in a cross-functional or collaborative way with other areas of the organization and within the team.
  • Guide editorial development of assigned products’ quality improvement, disease management, and health promotion materials to support targeted STARS and National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) objectives and accreditation requirements.
  • Serve as brand steward, ensuring consistent messaging, design and client "voice" and "tone" in communications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in communications-related field
  • 5 years of corporate or non-profit communications or marketing experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Sharepoint, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • 3 yearsof direct response marketing and project management experience
  • Ability to write for consumers using plain language
  • Familiarity with direct response marketing
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, project, and time management skills
  • Effective problem solving and prioritization abilities
  • Able to react quickly to new opportunities
  • Ability work in a consultative manner across the organization and within the team
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and juggle multiple assignments
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Experience:

  • Healthcare communications
  • Direct messaging strategy to writing teams
  • Experience working in a government-regulated industry
  • Proficiency in Adobe InCopy
