Digital Designer (Active Search!)
Summary:
Concepts and leads industry-leading creative to support the organization’s strategies and goals relative to the digital space. Works day-to-day with the Creative Team, bringing creative and digital strategies to life in a fun and fast-paced environment. Interfaces directly with internal business groups on creative projects. Should be a self-starter capable of leading creative initiatives with a high-end aesthetic. Should be a subject-matter expert regarding innovative technologies, design trends and strategies to help promote forward-thinking creative.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work as part of the creative team (designers, writers, production) to establish the visual brand vision and design strategies in the digital space
- Concept, test, learn and implement within an agile development process
- Meet with project managers and creative process specialist to help define and determine project parameters
- Participate in presenting work during Creative Review – explain rationale, process and methodologies of the design communication
- Elevate the overall creative aesthetic of the company and the team with intuitive, mature approach to understanding and deploying great results-driven design and communication
- Keep Creative Team and Creative Process Specialist apprised of the status of projects and requests their involvement when necessary
- Interfaces with Marketing, Merchandising, Strategy and Information Technology Departments
- Supports and protects the company brand and brand guidelines in all digital initiatives
- Stays up-to-date design, functionality, trends and systems
- Identifies new technologies that will benefit short and long term department goals
- Utilizes new and existing content into omni-channel resources for end users
- Enhances or creates style guides for campaigns and marketing initiatives
- Creates new and exciting content to enhance the visual experience
- Performs other design duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- BA/BS in related field required
- 5+ years digital experience as a designer or art director in an agency or corporate environment
- Excellent analytical skills and relevant experience
- Exceptional organizational/project management skills
- Customer focused - internal and external
- Willingness to learn and accept change
- Able to multitask and take direction from multiple sources
- Exceptional communication skills (written and oral)
- Excels as working indepently or as part of a creative team
- Able to work using accepted processes
- Strong layout and visual communication skills
- Expert in Photoshop, Sketch, InDesign, Illustrator
- Extensive digital background
- Familiarity with newest web-based technologies and approaches (HTML5, CSS, Responsive design, Agile workflow, etc..)
- After Effects knowledge preferred but not essential
